Dr. Umeda’s dental philosophy is centered on overall wellness and whole-body health. Dentistry is not separate from the rest of the body, and the materials used in dental care can be an important consideration for patients who are sensitive, allergy-prone, or managing unique health concerns.

Every day, our bodies come into contact with many different substances through the foods we eat, the products we use, our environment, and the medical or dental treatments we receive. Each person may respond differently to these substances. A material that causes little or no reaction in one person may cause sensitivity, irritation, or an adverse reaction in another.

To help support a more personalized approach to dental care, Dr. Umeda offers biologic materials testing through Vibrant Wellness Testing, also known as CRMT. This testing provides detailed information about a patient’s individual sensitivities to a wide range of dental materials. The results can help guide the selection of materials used in dental treatment, with the goal of choosing options that are more compatible with the patient’s individual needs.

CRMT may be especially helpful for patients with known allergies, chemical sensitivities, autoimmune concerns, complex medical histories, or rare and unique health conditions. It may also be useful for patients who simply want additional information before beginning restorative, cosmetic, implant, or other dental treatment.
