We are proud to announce that your favorite dentist, Dr. Gary Umeda, DDS, MAGD, has been honored with the coveted Mastership Award, from the AGD (Academy of General Dentistry). He received the award on June 23, 2012, during the association’s annual meeting.

AGD is an association of over 37,000 dentists who are dedicated to raising the bar in modern dental care. It is the second largest association of dental professionals in the U.S.A. Mastership is the greatest available honor from the AGD, as well as one of the most highly regarded designations in dentistry.

Jeffrey M. Cole, DDS, MBA, FAGD, president of the AGD, noted Dr. Umeda’s dedication to quality care and patient education. Dr. Umeda has completed extensive continuing education, and met the elevated standards of the AGD, to earn this prestigious award – a feat accomplished by less than two percent of the nearly 170,000 general dentists in the U.S.A. and Canada. Although the continuing education requirement is 1000 hours, Dr. Umeda had taken in excess of 3000 hours to far surpass the requirements for mastership.

Dr. Umeda is a graduate of the University of the Pacific. He holds several other respected credentials, including Fellowship of the International Congress of Oral Implantology, Academy of Dentistry International, and American College of Dentists. Of his many awards and achievements, the honor Dr. Umeda continues to take the greatest pride in is the lavish praise bestowed on him by his loyal patients.
